=====I have found a solution to the screen flickering=====
With chrome or opera, install the extension h264ify. This works for me to end the flickering. Not sure about Firefox. I had to register just for this post because it's so sad to see you guys flounder without a real solution.

Flux 4.33 beta, windows 7 x64. Can't get tray icon to front. "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Notification Area Icons" - show all icons is unchecked. When I set "Show icon and notifications" for flux, every time computer is restarted there is new entry for flux and tray icon is hidden.
I removed /nohide from executable but this brings flux window to front, not tray icon.

here the picture links since embedding didn't work:

Also I haven't noticed the problem when playing a video file with VLC or similar -- just from streaming.

My 5cents, disabling the auto brightness adjustment didn't help my issue.
What helped in my case is that I replaced the cable of the monitor.

lightning to D-SUB adapter with a D-SUB cable connected to the monitor -> constant screen refreshing waving/flickering effect (strangely only when flux enabled and color is warm)

HDMI -> DVI cable connected to the monitor - No flickering

I tried with 2 different monitors and I had the same issue / effect / resolution one LG and one Samsung. (Simply changing the D-SUB cable to another D-SUB didn't help, using another Lightning socket or adapter didn't help either)

Had a crash this morning. Machine was up, I could SSH to it, but the screen was dark and flickering. Rebooted and checked the system.log. This may be a GPU failure issue, but I figured I would throw this in for those with similar errors and a LOT of Flux messages, but the more I dug the more it seemed like the issue was my GPU and not Flux.

I stumbled upon this thread and noticed that it's quite old. Nonetheless, I'll try to help out with your issue.
Have you tried updating your NVIDIA drivers to the latest version? That may solve the problem you're experiencing with the ""disable for fullscreen apps"" option. Additionally, you may want to check if there are any updates available for your monitor's drivers.

      @TwoCables said in UWP f.lux:

Also, as you can see from the update page, it says "These pages are popping up too early for Windows App Store users. Sorry, we’re working on a fix!"

Sorry, I totally missed that! It's good information to know! I will probably just stick to Windows App in this case since developers know about the issue :-)

Thank you for the very quick reply!

@Muden Regarding the amount of light that reaches the retina: five minutes outside in the sun means more blue light (and more light of all wavelengths) reaches the retina than hours in front of a computer screen.

I personally would not recommend to anyone to stare at a computer screen for 14 hours a day, but giving medical advice is beyond the scope of this forum.

Questions about computer screens and how they can affect your eyes are best directed to an eye doctor who has examined you in person.

The issue with flickering when wake up the machine from Stand-by - issue still persists in even in the latest update.

When the flashing happens there is a log:

2015-08-14 1:42:47.991 AM Flux[589]: Display list confused, doing full reset.

      Hi,

No artifacts so far, thank you. However when I put my laptop to sleep at deep night (1900K) and wake it up another day, I need to restart f.lux. It shows 6500K, however 1900K temperature is still applied. Closing f.lux does not fix it, I need to run it again. Not a big deal though. 4.118

@lorna I would respectfully ask this stance be reconsidered. Working at night and trying to sleep with sunlight means a dynamic and chronically corrupted sleep cycle -- and since there is no consistent schedule, having full manual control is the only alternative.

I have similar problem. I cannot access the controls for flux by clicking on the app. The app is running on its own and is way to dark and I cannot get to where I can make adjustments. I am using MacOS Catalina on a 2019 MacBook Pro 15".
