      Im having issues with how f.lux handles dark mode; But I think it more has to do with us using a beta version of the OS rather than the app itself, because flux on El Capitan is working perfectly for me. What I would is that, when I toggle on dark menu from preferences > general, the menubar becomes dark but the dock and menulets stay the same (light mode). When flux handles this process during the day-night transition, menubar remains light but everything else changes. I just need to enter pref > ten and toggle dark menu manually. I installed a CLI dark-mode to troubleshoot and found that when the pref > gen toggle is used, the system remains registered as light

      $ dark-mode --mode
      Light

      And I can enter original dark mode through

      $ dark-mode --dark

      It is kind of frustrating but that's what we get for using a beta OS until all the bugs are fixed. But this is under the assumption that the dark menu bar setting was already broken / incomplete in Sierra (didn't test the toggle before installing flux)

      What version are you using on Mac OS? Maybe you need an update? You can set your wake time and many custom hours.

      We don't offer customizable hours in the way you're requesting, because the nightly melatonin cycle is long and interrupted by bright light. Dimming screens and house lights starting a couple of hours before your normal sleep time is generally recommended.

      I have the same exact hardware and am experiencing the same problem. It seemed like it didn't start doing it until several weeks ago, so I'm not sure if there was an update to Flux that started causing it or what.

      Ok, so given all that has been said above, it is now 07:51 local time and Flux just kicked in (being scheduled for between 21:00-06:00). I'm going to uninstall it and re-install it. Such a waste of time!

      Which version of f.lux? Any chance you have it disabled for a specific app that's launching at that time?

      @Savannah I'd like to just be able to force bedtime mode an hour or two earlier than it currently takes effect. It's summer, and in Texas sunset isn't until 830PM, and I start closing blinds, etc. at 7PM for both my kids and my early to rise self. Is the only way really to set my location to somewhere in a timezone east of where I actually am?

      @Caponsacchi The company has not bought f.lux. And Apple devices are LED backlit, which do not emit UVB.

      I recommend working with Sparkle to see if they can allow you to control this in a future release of their library. At the very least, mention in the text what app is using sparkle.

      Bedtime lighting is set based on your wake time. The reason for this is because the amount of sleep may vary a lot between people, but your nightly melatonin cycle needs about 9-10 hours after darkness falls. So you can set your wake time to a different number or you can try some of the other settings under preferences. Lots of info here: http://justgetflux.com/news/pages/macquickstart/
