      Hi There,

I love f.lux and have been using it for years. However, starting just this past Monday, the app has been incessantly flickering on and off on my screen. I had looked on the FAQ page and there appeared to be problems with external monitors, but this issue has to do with my main MacBook Air screen. I tried updating f.lux, and even deleted and reinstalled f.lux, to no avail.

This is really messing with my vision and I don't want to go back to the crazy brightness of my original screen and continuing using f.lux.

      HELP PLEASE!

      Thanks,
      Katelyn

        Try 37.2 and a reboot?
37.1 had a bug like this for some machines.

          I'm experiencing the same issue.

          Current build: 37.2
          OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 (15F34)

Not sure if these details matter, but:

I've noticed this seems to only happen in the evening...after 8:20 or 8:30 PM. And (possibly) only when running disconnected from power source.

Hi there, @herf. Thanks for the advice. I'm on 37.3, it seems, and have rebooted. I unfortunately am still experiencing this issue :(

can you please post your system type?
apple > about this mac (the first few lines)

and also under system report... > graphics/displays what the chipset is?

@herf I also had thought it might be my second monitor causing problems. However, I have worked this past week without the monitor and the problem is still occurring. :(

Is your automatic brightness on or off? Have you rebooted since changing it?

It is possible that the latest Intel chipsets are doing something new to save power (our HD 5000 works fine on 10.11.5).

Ah! My automatic brightness was on. I've turned it off and rebooted. I'll be back with my findings.
