When I unzip folder, the Flux.app appears it my Finder folder. But when I try to open the Flux.app the window with error appears. This window has only one sentence: "Can not open the app Flux.app" and all I can do with this is to tap "OK"

@Thomas-Ella Yes, Windows has this, but the team has said many times (maybe a year or so ago) that it's more experimental and they'd like to add features. So, they've also got a Windows beta, Linux, and mobile betas currently in the pipeline, I'm not sure which one will happen first, but I'm betting on the mobile beta's to get more people f.lux on screens used before bed.

Thanks for that. I seemed to have worked it out, after repeating the installations, and noticing that the alert came up suddenly telling me that it was disabled in Chrome. I immediately clicked that alert, and was able to turn the option off. Mystery! Thanks so much for anwering. Great app!

I just registered an account on the forum because I wanted to ask for the same feature !

It would be great if f.lux could switch the wallpaper at a given time (sunset for instance).

Why ? Because my wallpaper is dark, and switching to Darkroom mode kills my eyes every time I need to access to my desktop at night.

C'mon fluxers! We've gotta figure this out. That used to be my favorite flux feature, and when I'm just coding on the bus at night it's good on my eyes (and sleep later) and just more respectful to everyone on the bus. I've tried rebooting, uninstall/reinstall, turning auto brightness off and still get the flicker but NEVER when the tray is down o_0

@Stjepan-Pavlek Oh, I hadn't even thought of the timings. Think about this, you're (so far) the only one on this forum who is giving information about Night Shift. I still have an iPad 2. The screen has a shallow crack in it, but otherwise works O.K. I don't have the money to "update". I would also like to use Night Shift.

Anyway, how long would you say it takes for the feature to transition on the iPad, and you also say it's lighter. What settings are you using on the mac, and about where does that color match when the iPad is done transitioning?

What happens when you move those 2 folders to any other folder or Desktop?

You may need to check permissions in those folders and making sure you as user have full access. Had the same issue when noticed in the "Containers" I had no access. Fixed that and now Flux starts.

When you get time @f-lux-team could you take a look at this if you haven't already?

@TheFooFighter You have the option to automatically switch to dark mode for OS X, in the f.lux preferences at sunset. Uncheck this option in f.lux.

@UNOwen The list you linked to is not of vulnerable applications, it specifically says:

this [list] has nothing to do with security. Applications are listed here just because they use Sparkle and we think they're cool.

There's a script you can run to check all your applications for vulnerability. Here's what it says about f.lux:

Yes this is a bug in the video driver - really the OS should load the profile when you switch users. You could do some kind of Automator to load the profile at login?

Also, if nothing else works, you could try running f.lux under her account but with all the settings set to 6500K...

I tried again this morning on both an Early 2015 macbookpro and a Late 2013 macbookpro. The 2015 worked right away, the 2013 started working after a system crash (needed to force reboot after screen went dark-grey and wouldnt respond). Feel free to close this.
