Currently getting the Purple haze when I have my mini USB monitor on. It's a DoubeSight DS-U70 monitor that runs off the DisplayLink USB monitor driver.

      NVIDIA 23.21.13.8813: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (20171027)
DisplayLink 8.4.2250.0: DisplayLink USB Device (20171019)

Flux works just fine with the DisplayLink off but the moment I turn it on purple grey mess.

I just want to point out that v4 is under promoted. There's no mention of it on the homepage. I've been using v3 for months now, chaffing due to the lack of exactly the features found in v4.

The only thing missing is complete control over the schedule and triggered transitions. Native support for TP-Link bulbs would be nice, but the point of this post is that the existence of v4 isn't obvious. :)

Love the software and some of its UX. I only wish it gave me more control.

How important is it to not be exposed to significant amounts of blue light in the earlier part of the evening, 6h-3h before you go to bed?

Just another sidenote while still having this problem, that when the mac returns from standby (monitor off etc.) to the login screen, the cursor color adapts to the flux-color, only when I am loggin in by inputting the password, the cursor changes to being 'white'. That may be interesting to anyone.

      Thank you.

@usedtobeafan I have a LENOVO laptop, and this fixed my issue definitely.

It works not only for Snagit, but also for Snipping tool....

I did first look at this solution, but it didn't help me:

Hi everyone - yes it is still one click to turn it off. However, without it, people do not set their wake time, and so f.lux cannot customize lighting based on this information. These two features work together, and I hope it isn't too hard to turn off the notifications if they aren't helpful - but we will leave it on for this reason.

@Elhem-Enohpi I want to thank you, again. You really helped me adjust my monitor. Today is a cloudy day with the sky full of white clouds, and you are right. They do send a lot of light through my office window, and I need a brighter, bluer monitor rather than a dimmer, yellower or redder one. So, I tried disabling Flux, and I could see the monitor more clearly. Then I turned up the brightness a little, and this helped, too.

      Thanks, again.

      Peyton

      @arioda said:

Last visit at LightFair I was aghast that most LED driver modules operate with significant 120Hz flicker as do Seoul Semiconductors Acrich 120vac straight off the line modules and they don't seem to care! Yikes. The min flicker frequency for our lamp is 2KHz at minimum brightness <1% and at full brightness is in the 10's or 100's of kHz. Next time you are at Home Depot or anywhere there is an LED rapidly wave your hand in front of it and look for stroboscopic effect. This is a good way to detect flicker. I just checked out my iPhone that way and now I will have to try with a 'scope and a photocell. Thanks for giving me another reason to dislike my phone :(

I've never seen flicker on an LED lit screen, well, again unless it uses PWM, but I've not seen it on phones, until every damn android phone went to OLED, then I see it way too much.

Anyway, that part about having very high frequency on the LEDs, I can't thank you enough. I didn't get a couple on the kickstarter, as it was decided that we'll wait until it's fully ready, just so there's no issues and such. So I'll get one next year, I'd have to wait a bit anyway so I don't mind if it cost more, I'll support you!

Also back to the LEDs at the store, I don't have to wave my hand, I can look straight at it and see it. It's ridiculous--can they just hire me and let me fire anyone who says that 120hz is O.K.? I really just want to fire all of them! Also whoever wrote the spec on it, REALLY wanted to push it up to 150hz, but guess how that worked out.
