@anon-flux can you check if the feature "when the sun is up, dim lights with these names:" feature doesn't have names that match your lights? and of course, that the checkbox is off?

We had some code in there that would try to match your screen dimming to the lights (which wasn't supposed to be in the build yet). It is out of the beta and should be more predictable now.

I'm new here so this might be answered already but I couldn't find the response and I think this thread is quite related to the problem.

So yeah, f.lux does set the appropriate warmness of the light, but I want to dim the lights additionally and the controller doesn't let you do that like you described.

Grayscale does not eliminate any blue light because white still stays the same.

This build should also look better below 2000K, as it's doing to tricks to make colors look more realistic there. You can adjust colors at any time using the main slider in the preferences.

So far, I love it! It's everything that I was hoping for and more. It was super easy to set up, and it's a real joy to use. The pure red color looks and feels identical to my beloved red Feit LED light. In addition to that, I can reduce the brightness so far that it's almost too dim. I love having that range. I have always wanted a much dimmer true red LED light.

Of course, it can do much more than that. I can choose literally any color I want - and at any brightness, or I can pick from dozens upon dozens of predefined settings and scenes. This is a fantastic smart light! It has the full range of super simple operation to super fun and fancy operation. Judging from the LIFX app, it seems the only limit is my imagination and creativity.

I am definitely getting another one! I don't know if I should get one now, or wait until I have a little more money, but I am definitely getting one as soon as possible.

Our Philips Hue implementation does something like this - it makes lights considerably warmer than the screen all the time, and there are three settings to say how much of this we do. If you are using Hue and we can add another preset that's even warmer, we'd be open to it.

Hey, hamma2020. Besides color temperature (above 5000 Kelvin), there are other basic things you should keep in mind when choosing a bulb or tube for an art studio. Here they are:

Color Rendering Index (CRI) - CRI of an LED bulb should be equal to or above than 80. A high CRI helps lighting source accurately reproduce colors.
Brightness - For a small to a medium sized room, 6000-8000 Lumens would suffice (120-watt bulb)
Luminous Efficiency - An average luminous efficiency of 80 -120 Lumen/watt is generally required for producing white and bright light.

Hey, John Wicky or should I say "The Boogeyman"? (kidding) Now coming to your query, if you haven't already, you definitely should install LED lights in your house. Besides providing brighter illumination, LED lights can also help you save a huge chunk of money in energy costs. That's one of the major reasons behind the unprecedented growth of LED lights in the world.

Talk about myself, I have been using LED lights for years and understand their advantages very well. A few years back I entirely replaced my house lighting with LEDs, higher energy bills & dull illumination were the prime reasons why I shifted from CFLs to LED lights. Furthermore, I took the China route for buying LEDs and bought LED lights from SeniorLED in bulk simply because Chinese manufacturers produce high-quality LED lights that are affordable as well.
