@herf I see thank you. That would explain the problem. I do have an original bridge and an emulated bridge. Thanks for that config option.

Is there currently a manual way to override the IP and can UPnP be prioritized in the future as that is what is shown in the Philips Hue API documentation as well?

So i finally bought the smart lights and can answer my own question:
No, the Alt+PgDn & Alt+PgUp shortcuts don't adjust the brightness.

@anon-flux can you check if the feature "when the sun is up, dim lights with these names:" feature doesn't have names that match your lights? and of course, that the checkbox is off?

      Hey,

I'm new here so this might be answered already but I couldn't find the response and I think this thread is quite related to the problem.

So yeah, f.lux does set the appropriate warmness of the light, but I want to dim the lights additionally and the controller doesn't let you do that like you described.

      TwoCables

@herf said in Flux turns blue into purple:

@twocables It is possible to do much, much better. We have had prototypes and shaders to do this for many years. Some more is possible soon.

Right, but maintaining perfect color accuracy while using a very warm color temperature like 2300K or lower seems to be something that will always be impossible. Sure, it should be possible to get reasonably good color accuracy for casual use, but not for professional use where color accuracy is absolutely critical.

Also do get our beta (about menu, restart).

We had some code in there that would try to match your screen dimming to the lights (which wasn't supposed to be in the build yet). It is out of the beta and should be more predictable now.

Yes, we're looking at a couple ways to do it.

There might be a hacker mode where you run a daemon on your Mac that syncs with f.lux (and then you could move it to a home server or raspberry pi if you wanted). But we need to do better than "leave the mac on all the time" even though I know some people have a mac mini that does that - it isn't most people!

@yesinkatle6 At sunset remove blue from light / increase the orange

Decrease brightness up until bedtime but not to turn off completely until I decide to go to bed

To repeat every day without me having to change the start time i.e. automatically adjusts to sunset time throughout the ye
