Generally even people who sleep in two episodes have one major rhythm that entrains to light. Melatonin doesn't rise that much during the day, no matter when you sleep, for instance.

So usually I would recommend trying to maintain a "dark night" for 9-10 hours even if you are awake for half of it - would probably set your wake time for the "night" sleep episode (i.e. you wake up at 5AM).

As for reducing alertness or reminding yourself to go offline during the day, we don't have anything automatic yet, but you could use the keyboard keys to adjust f.lux if you want to.

We will add an option for this. Might be a regkey for now (the options menu is getting huge).

Updating the to NVIDIA drivers version 387.92 fixed the issue for me too.

Oh hey cool, so this was an unauthorized update on my computer, and it's incredibly buggy. It stops working for any little reason, including things like opening a file inside Chrome. wtf. I'm goin to have to try and find the previous version, this one is super bad. The interfacing is also not intuitive, either.

@herf It looks like it was a GPU update, I went through and updated it and it is no longer having the issue.

It seems like NVIDIA pushed a bad driver.

People report that 387.92 fixes it.

Now it's only choppy when the f.lux window is closed. Inch by inch, f.lux keeps getting better and better. I don't care about anything negative that some people might say about it, this is the best version so far.

The new version shows a list of all disabled programs, so it is easier to re-enable them. Hopefully updating soon for you, or you can download again from the website.
