@TwoCables Woah, O.K.! I get the annoyance of changing lights, but halogens produce a good bit whiter light (if you get the neodymium glass--it's not a coating, the material is even used in magnets!) so I thought you'd be interested in that. I like the aerotech bulbs too, but I only use them at night for the much stronger yellow glow they give. In the daytime (in the morning really, and that's rare) I'll use the whiter halogens for the brighter light.

For my situation, a 20,000-hour incandescent light bulb cannot be beaten.

@herf Wow! That's enlightening. I hope it gets cheaper to calibrate the stuff, I really want high quality light. I want everyone to know that fluorescents put off a strange light and it's not at all nice. It's just all over the place. It makes it incredibly difficult for me to read smaller fonts (maybe 6-7 points). It's hard to do that anyway, but with fluorescent it's just about impossible.

@David-wei We need 90+ CRI lights, not the same stuff that everyone else is making. Lets not flood the market with all of the same stuff. Make high quality competitive cost LED bulbs and push for higher quality light in our future!

I think he's just spamming (unwanted advertising). Look at his profile (look at the only 3 posts he has made), and look at how old this thread is. I think that posts like his aren't worth responding to and are better off being deleted.

@herf Hey I'm not sure if you're familiar with http://1000bulbs.com/ but they've got Soraa LED PAR flood bulbs if you ever want to measure them:

@lorna, can you push this to the top again please? I know it's on the main website, but if people go looking for it, then it's much easier to find--can you pin it to the top, or does it always go to the bottom of the page?

@pb123 If you go to the homepage of this forum: https://forum.justgetflux.com/ or you can click the bolded text "f.lux forum" when you scroll upward, and go to "support" then you'll get a breakdown of different systems, windows, mac, linux, etc.

Anyway, on windows, if you slow down and drag the night slider farther than 3400K all the way to the left, as far as you can slide your mouse, you'll soon see a fading button that says "Expand color range". Click this, and give it administrative privileges, and reboot when you're ready. Then you can enjoy warmer colors, both day and night.

I mean, does it dim at night? or is this a work situation where you're not in front of your comp at night? In any case, if you want to warm the screen during the day, you're going to need to open settings and move the "day" scroller towards the yellow.

If you can't return them maybe sell them on, or just take it as life learning and go get some nice warm light LED's instead!
