Update: It got up to 17 hours and I cancelled it. Any ideas of why this happened?

F.lux is not the problem, it's the display. You can easily have like 10 different displays in front of you (be it separate monitors or displays on tablets and laptops), and you can have 10 different results for color accuracy. Just because f.lux says it's at a certain color temperature, it doesn't mean that you're seeing exactly that color temperature. What you actually get is entire dependent on the display being used.

So, the only way to fix that is by making adjustments to the display's settings until you are satisfied with it. There's nothing you can do in f.lux, unless you wish to change the color temperature to compensate for the display's difference in color accuracy.

I would like to second this one but for a slightly different reason. Living in Alaska, during the winter the sun starts setting at around 4PM which isn't always optimal.

Since I use Plex Player a lot I'll have to wait for the next update that fixes the bug related to that before testing this.

@StevenCee I have had this problem for as long as flux has been around. I found that if I have it set to auto open on login, then I cannot have it also do the same thing with flux itself. Once I have it auto open at login, I can delete that and have it set to auto open within the app.

I also experienced that if I have it set to auto-open at login, I cannot get the prefs panel to appear from the many bar UNLESS I manually open Flux from the apps ƒ and then the menu pulldown works.

If I hav it auto open from within the app after having done the "dance" with auto-open at login, then th pull down menu for prefs works.

This "behavior" remains even with the latest beta version.

Absolutly, or something that triggers a 'disable' such as being connected to a certain wifi network, or goes according to my schedule, or a custom schedule as lukeed mentioned.

I tried to reinstall the iOS, no luck - ended up erasing the entire hard drive and reinstalling - not happy!! 3 years of data backed up but spent an entire day messing with it. At one point I was able to enter safe mode - delete Flux from the applications folder - reboot with same result, Black Screen.

Same issue for me, black screen after wake up, I see the mouse pointer moving, sometimes I can get back to the desktop when pressing the power key several times, mostly I need to reboot the hard way.

This method works.

@herf I use a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) and it doesn't have this f.lux Profile present in Displays > Color. There are a bunch of others there, however, presumably installed by default by macOS.

Interestingly, when I change to any of the Color Profiles in that list, the system does hang for a few seconds, just like when f.lux changes the color temperature.

Since I don't have a f.lux Profile in there, however, should I still try any of the suggestions in that article that you linked to?
