      Update on this:

I followed the instructions below (i.e. disabling "Automatically Adjust Brightness") and it fixed the issue on one of my workstations but not on the other.

Edit: I did a reboot on the other workstation and it's working correctly :-)

These instructions are from the flux quick start guide.

@CrustyBaker Yikes... uh, it sounds like there are some very serious configuration issues here, and I'm not saying it's on you. Maybe something got corrupted and I do agree that an uninstall is warranted here for sure. So, I believe I've already posted all the relevant uninstallation information, so if you have any difficulties finding something, or if a process doesn't work (like maybe it's not showing up in the activity monitor, or the tint is still active) just ask for help.

EDIT: I think the f.lux guide for mac would be very helpful. I know this version has added quite a few settings even I'm not remotely familiar with and would surely read this if I were using the version. (I'm a windows user).

Same here. I then go to preference and switch to "Sunset" settings, the back to daytime and screen goes back to normal (w/o actually changing any settings).
However it switches back to "Bedtime" settings every now and then (actually quite often), mostly when closing programs, alert boxes or when starting other apps (but not reproducably "reliable"). So most context switches seem to confuse f.lux here (OSX 10.11.5).

@MendicantBias Well, how far down are you able to set f.lux in the daytime? Whatever that number is, coupled with inverting your screen colors, is about the best solution I can come up with that you'll be able to do.

Actually, you could change your location twice per day or something, if you're willing to do that.

We can run OS X and iOS in greyscale in addition to flux.

@LinkFrancis I saw you sent a message first. That image will not show us anything. It's attempting to go into your local hard drive, which thankfully, nobody on the Internet has access to directly. You'll need to send it to a image sharing website.

Edit, in the mean time, could you please explain, step by step, how you're installing the software?

      Lorna,

      Hi!

I am using 36.6 and do not have "sleep late on weekends checked" not "extra hours…" checked. All others are checked. No color effects are checked and no Disabled options are checked.

The location arrow, when clicked, tells me that it cannot find my location and wonders if I wi-fi is turned off.

As a matter of fact, location services is not working anywhere, and per the apple forums, this seems to be a suffering issue for many 10.11.4 users.

It did work well on 10.10.5, but since moving up, has been very very spotty at best.

My physical location is Izmir, turkey. The late 2011 MBP running 10.11.4 has my automatic time set to GMT+3 to account to DST.

@jnuneziglesias the f.lux program isn't even installed, much less running on any account, other than the one you installed it on. You'll have to install it for every user who wants it.
