@JohnEdwa yes, this is really annoying. I've just uninstalled flux because of this. I want my smarttv (where i play games) not to be affected at all by flux. But for the moment I'll quit, I hope the dev will add this feature soon.
Had the same problem, tried everything I could from 1903 threads: install and uninstall countless times, update drivers, downgrade drivers, upgrade again, regedit cleaning, Fast Startup disabling, etc.
Eventually I tried uninstalling the Store app and then installing via executable --> immediately worked! Hope this solves your issue.

@GreyName Me too. It's mind boggling how they just ignore it, or give the very lame excuse "We know better than you what's good for you". They obviously haven't been to parts of the world where it's sunny all night through in the summer and no sun at all whatsoever in the winter. Where tuning the light inside and on computer screens is the only option to normalize daytime hours and fight against winter depression and summer insomnia.
I do have to remember to change them because I change them fairly frequently. If I'm watching a movie or something, I like to use a cooler temperature. But the Sunset color can change that when the time comes. Et cetera.
The Classic f.lux bit is helpful, though, as I only have to deal with two times. Thanks. It'd be nice just to be able to set as many or as few times as we want.
There's Movie Mode. Just use that when you watch a movie.
@Architekt I support this idea. And it seems like a relatively simple feature to add, is it not? PLEASE let us use the smart bulb feature with only color temperature changes, and no control over brightness. I think the smart bulb feature would be amazing with that ability. And I think there are many more of us who would enjoy this feature, too:
