As I already told, none of other Windows programs which live in system tray use this "sliding" animation for closing of the main window. And I've never heard that some users had any problems with it. If a program has an icon in the system tray, it is clear that closing of the main window doesn't mean closing an application. Right now I use 12 programs which live in system tray, but only one of them use this closing animation. It is really non-consistent.

It doesn't happen often but I've encountered it a few times. I'm not sure if it's still in Task Manager but there still a filter, the colour just doesn't change and the icon is gone from system tray. I'll report back when I encounter it again.

Closing thread: issue not related to f.lux. Recommend contacting Lenovo support.

Thanks, @herf. All that does, though, is make the sunset level almost as bright as daylight with a huge dropoff at the bedtime level. It doesn't change the length of the sunset period nor when it starts.

Thank you! That registry setting has solved both of my problems.

Now if only I could manually change monitor settings independently... Eg. secondary in "Movie Mode", primary in normal f.lux.

I appreciate the work you've put into a program which is free to use, along with the helpful and prompt support :)

Thanks for this note - we designed the timing for a totally different feature, and what you're saying makes sense.

The timing is designed for "disable by app" and people who alt-tab from Photoshop to email/chat and back a lot....so in that case going too fast would be not very good.

But in the case you're describing, going from a dark video to a white webpage, we should do better.

All the Hue lights work well with f.lux.

You're just responsible for turning them on and off.

The f.lux interface is customizable for almost every schedule. In every version of f.lux available now, you can control your sunset light levels and color temperature. That doesn't mean it's immediately obvious, but it is possible. The criticism of not enough documentation is absolutely fair, and it's on the to-do list. Until it's available, post the timing you want and are having trouble with, someone will try to help you.

Unfortunately, it goes beyond the scope of an internet forum to provide advice about treating medical conditions, and we've crossed into that territory in this thread. f.lux does not give medical advice.

Before I close this thread, I want to direct you to CET, the Center for Environmental Therapeutics, which specializes in this area. They offer excellent research-based information for both clinicians and patients: https://www.cet.org/

nobody has had this problem before? Am I really the only one? I can't understand why video playback and Chrome struggle so hard with f.lux. I have to turn off f.lux to watch a video it's so bad.

Ok, then what is your "earliest wake time" set to?

You can also just switch to "Classic f.lux". That disables the bedtime mode so that the only two modes for color temperature changes are daytime and night.

So much this. In the old v3 i liked the very slow and gradual dimming effect i got so that when it was almost bedtime flux would be doin it's thing in full force, now it's just annoying when it's three o clock and it just switches on almost directly. the only solution i can think of right now would be to set my location in some other country further south.
