      Many people dim using f.lux's software dimming (using full backlight brightness). So you get less contrast but less flicker this way. Alt+PgDn does this.

      Nevermind! I spoke too soon. The issue was with a piece of anti-malware software. Sorry for the bother..

      Here's the Flux "Driver info":
      NVIDIA 30.0.14.7212: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB (20210913)

      Generic PnP Monitor, 800 x 450mm, built 2017
      Chromaticities:
      R=0.642578 0.332031
      G=0.322266 0.623047
      B=0.146484 0.055664
      W=0.280273 0.290039
      sRGB gamut: 95%, AdobeRGB gamut: 66%

      Unlimited gamma ramp=1, Internal ramp=0
      Monitor 1 on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB
      Has VCGT profile=0, Gamma Ramp works=1

      Windows Build: 19042.1288

      It is interesting that it shows the display size improperly -- it says 800mm x 450mm, when it should be 1435mm x 800mm. Also, this TV was built in 2020, not 2017, but it may be getting the year from the Denon home theater receiver that it is connected through?

      You can post f.lux options > driver info here if you'd like us to make a guess. This sounds like a power management issue, or maybe a video driver issue.

      @SalmonSkin this should not apply to fullscreen games - it is only for the desktop. Also our default settings do not trigger this - it is really only for extremely warm colors.

      Okay we do know that NVIDIA has some settings in its own control panel that override color settings - can you check for "reference color" mode or something like that in the NVIDIA Control Panel? It should be turned off for f.lux to work.

      @herf
      I checked out the link you provided. There is no profile for my monitor in the TFT Database. My monitor is the BenQ EX2510. So I was able to get f.lux to work with QuickGamma. So far flux and the QuickGamma settings are working together. Even after a restart. The only (new) problem I have now is with Windows Photo Viewer, but that is unrelated. And also unmaintained software in Windows 10. Time to ditch it, unfortunately.

      Thank you for your help!

      "The topic you are replying to is quite old. Would you like to create a new topic instead, and reference this one in your reply?"

      No I don't. But yes.. the topic is old, like the problem that wasn't fixed^^

      I'm sorry F.Lux, I really like the application you provide to us for free^^ but seeing a four year old problem adressed and looked after by the staff is just a little bit on the funny side^^

      Hello,
      Sorry i had completely forgotten about this topic. I was coming back to post about the same issue and realized i had already posted about it a long time ago.

      I'm trying to make the Hue lights listen to the desktop Hue Sync app.
      Basically, during daylight, i don't need f.lux to make my lights match the screen color. So i always have to disable the Hue lights in the menu.
      I was wondering if they was a hotkey or something that could do this. Another idea would be to not make the menu disappear every time we tick or untick a Hue light to use, to avoid re-opening the menu again everytime we switch on/off a light to use.
      I know a more radical solution would be to simply close f.lux, but i'd have to open it when it's getting darker.

      +1 to providing this behind a warning. I'm mostly interested in having brightness adjustment; software color adjustment works fine.

      It could be reasonable to quantize the brightness steps, limiting the number of writes to some limit, e.g. 10 per day. I wouldn't mind if my monitor died after 10,000 days.
