Yup same here. I'm really missing this feature, it was pretty much my second favourite :-(. What happened to it? Is it only on Sierra?

@Sipher a plist is a "Property List" and describes a file which stores key-value pairs in macOS and iOS (and probably others as well). It's one option for storing things like preferences on macOS and iOS.

@Jqarthur It's a bit confusing to remove on mac because it's like you have to guess what to delete.

Let's start off by checking to see if it's still running--if not we'll check the color profiles, and if that doesn't work, you'll need to then re-install f.lux, but set it to 6500 for both day and night.

To check if f.lux is running: open the "activity monitor" and look for the "flux" process. End it if you see it. Search "Finder" for "flux" and "f.lux" (with the dot in the name!).

Delete all files of f.lux / flux.

      Then reboot the machine.

If screen has not returned normal colors, you'll have to play with your color profiles. I'm not very knowledgeable with that on mac, so I'll stop here and let someone else take over. Yes I didn't expand on setting f.lux to daylight for both day and night, so I will do that here. I think you set it to "classic f.lux" and choose 6500K for both settings.

      ?

@herf any news on this? I have this issue multiple times a week:

get up before my defined wake up time press "Disable until Sunrise" to make my screen normal forget to enable flux again at sunset

A simple "Disable until Wake up time" or "Disable until Sunset" feature would fix this.

@marcolight I believe that the same thing is happening to me—or it's preventing my rMBP from sleeping at all. I unplugged it after use with a full charge at around 11:00 pm last night and woke it up when I got home from work at 6:00 pm today (approximately 18 hours in total) and noticed that the battery dropped down to 82%. I checked Activity Monitor, and although it couldn't discern if f.lux was the culprit or not, it did confirm a rapid decrease in the power level.

My 5cents, disabling the auto brightness adjustment didn't help my issue.
What helped in my case is that I replaced the cable of the monitor.

lightning to D-SUB adapter with a D-SUB cable connected to the monitor -> constant screen refreshing waving/flickering effect (strangely only when flux enabled and color is warm)

HDMI -> DVI cable connected to the monitor - No flickering

I tried with 2 different monitors and I had the same issue / effect / resolution one LG and one Samsung. (Simply changing the D-SUB cable to another D-SUB didn't help, using another Lightning socket or adapter didn't help either)

Dunno if bumping works, but here goes, since the devs don't seem to have taken any note of this.

it seems to have gotten better now, flux fixes it's self after a couple seconds.
I gues you really can't get rid of the flickering, it's just mac os.

      Sorry guys,
      false alarm.

I just restarted my Mac and when I opened Chrome it told me "flux is disabled for this app" — with 1 click I could "reset" it again.

Maybe make this setting more obvious in flux? I was absolutely unable to find such a setting for excluded apps! :)

      Best,
      Annie
