I did not update the field as I set myself dark mode. I like this version aesthetically. I have not experienced any inconvenience when using it until today. I rejected all requests for updating the system because my mac was working perfectly and I was happy with how it works. But today I noticed that my laptop has become very slow. Could this be due to the old version? I also have problems with memory overflow. Could this be due to memory?

Never mind, I didn't see the icon of the app at the top of the screen. I was able to click on it and quit it that way, and trash it.

Are you saying that this is caused by f.lux?

While using flux on my macOS I also felt the same issue. I felt the issue in flux and iTunes together in my case. I thought it was because of iTunes sync error 54. After fixing that I got to know it was a system error. To fix the flux issue

click start > type control panel > control panel > programas and features > select flux > update it

Mojave is asking permission for us to change these things - I wonder if it might have gotten permission for "dark mode" and not "light mode'?

For the most part, you can use the slider to adjust the "Current" setting, and the tabs are only used to adjust "other" times of day (not the current setting).

If you don't like the range of the sliders, you can expand it in "options".

This problem usually means you need to update to Mojave.

Does the disable menu have an entry there, when Safari is the current app?

The first problem is that sunrise/sunset can vary by several hours from the local timezone - e.g., when traveling to Australia, or even China (which has one timezone for the whole country). We tried to make this automatic in our first version in 2009 and gave it up, because people wanted it to be much closer to actual sunrise/sunset. (The system time widget does not tell us the location of the machine, but only the timezone offset, so macOS/Apple know this but we don't get it automatically.)

f.lux tries to know your location within about 5 miles (rather than exactly for privacy reasons), and it does prompt when your timezone changes - we could work on making it more seamless, but there are privacy implications with making it too quiet.

Yes, just turn off the f.lux option to change it, and turn it on in System Preferences instead.
