Why does f.lux ask to record screen-capture?

Today f.lux asked my to allow it to record screen-captures. Why?

This is a feature our About box has had for years - it does not record your screen, it estimates your screen brightness.
If you update to 40.1, this feature has been turned off, until we can make the prompt sound less crazy.
