f.lux will smooth your wake timing for about a week before the time change.

Well that failed because it is still doing the same thing, very quickly changing from low brightness to high brightness. There is no smooth or slow transition like the setting should enforce, it is just an instant change.

I do have the current colour set to 1200K Ember. I do also use the Adjust day and night colours together and it is set to 1200K but do not know whether that makes any difference.

My main concern is with making my computer usable and comfortable to use. I do use browser extensions (Dark Background & White Text) to eliminate white page backgrounds. Most in the CFS/ME/Fibro community have this problem and a shifted body clock and some also have sleeping difficulties.

To get the best possible match between your monitors, calibrate them to the same color temperature, brightness and gamma settings if possible. Use the monitor with the lowest brightness as your common denominator for all the other monitors.

The "earliest wake time" setting used to work for this. My sunrise is 5:15.
I set my earliest wake time to 3:30am.
I remember if I would stay awake all night at 3:30am I would be flashed with bright light.

My reason is I want to wake up at 3:30 am I managed to wake up today at 4:am.
My screen was still red 2800K

Only at 5:59 it was disable even though my sunrise time is 5:15 as per my location

I don't see any setting and I am pretty sure when I used to wake up early I would see my bright screen and that helped me stay awake if I didn't want to sleep. I would just work on my computer in bright daylight setting and at 4am all my sleep would vanish.

Now this is making me drowsy

I would also like a nice low dip from 5:pm till 7:pm a nice curve.
but can't set that. My sunset timings are 6:45pm.

    • R

Why am I not able to change the sunrise timing? Sunrise in my area is 5:15 Am I want to set it to 3:30 am That is my earliest wake time setting in Flux.

While the certain application is running, go to the f.lux icon in your taskbar and right click on it, then click disable and there should be a list of the current running applications. Just select yours and you should be good.

The installer is created by NSIS thus you can use command lines to customize the installation folder
      e.g

      flux-setup.4.111.0.0.exe /D=%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Flux

You can refer to https://nsis.sourceforge.io/Docs/Chapter3.html for details.

Another minor issue observed is that after keeping flux running under %ProgramFiles(x86)% or %ProgramFiles%, clicking the "Update" button from the 4.118 update notification will do nothing. That may be caused by a lack of administrator priviledge. In that case, remember to rerun it as adminstrator or disable the update notification.

f.lux does require a restart (of f.lux only) when you change your profile.

We used to detect changes and update automatically, but there was a huge memory leak in Windows that made our detector expensive, so we stopped doing that.

Will you ever fix ICC profiles to work correctly?

Yes this is a core feature for us - it has been in the software since v3 (in 2013). Recent changes to Windows may have affected it, but most profiles with a VCGT tag work fine.

Can you post your f.lux options > driver info and email us the ICC profile?

      Hi,

No artifacts so far, thank you. However when I put my laptop to sleep at deep night (1900K) and wake it up another day, I need to restart f.lux. It shows 6500K, however 1900K temperature is still applied. Closing f.lux does not fix it, I need to run it again. Not a big deal though. 4.118
