@dreptio yes we have done a better job of this on Windows. We will add it to the list for macOS.

@davidmorr yes I can tell that's hard to see. We'll work on contrast.

I guess there's a little romance in the NASA "Black Marble" image that we like, but you have to be able to see it. It looks like the pin is perhaps a bit big down there too.

I think at the moment Flux currently doesn't provide the option to override the time zone data for your location, but you can manually adjust your system time to match your current location's time while traveling.

@JorIS I would like to see this too. Mac OS does have Color Filters under System Settings>Accessibility>Display, then at the bottom, but that is a bit to dig though to get to it.

Would also just like to add that if you live in california a bedtime based on sunset and sunrise can make sense. It really really doesn't if you live in northern norway.

@umtiagopereira We have experimented with it, but Macs like to sleep too much to be fulltime lighting controllers (even when we tell them to stay awake!) - also, the windows version works best using a desktop...

We are looking into a way to replicate this entirely on the Hue bridge (and would try to put that in macOS too). I guess the alternative is to run a raspberry pi somewhere and we could make that work too.

Do you know how they are connected? I think most macbooks can support 3 external displays but not 4. Does it work if it is shown all as one display?

@herf said in f.lux hierarchy with light/dark system settings:

@uhmorphous if you want it to be the same always, turn off "macOS dark theme at sunset" from f.lux options

Hi @herf thanks for responding. That did it! I didn't even think to look in Color Effects in the dropdown menu for this specific issue, so thanks! Irritation eradicated lol

Mac Mini M2 I noticed the same thing on my 24" HP monitor. The screen sort of brightens then back to normal ... back and forth at random times.

@Spliff yes they did flip the order of operations on the M1 machines. We handle this properly when we do our own inversion (like "darkroom") but we can't see the system one is turned on. Maybe we could add our own invert in the future...

@atmnz be sure to turn on f.lux options > expanded daytime settings and then you can adjust your daytime settings to suit. Also perhaps dimming more can help?
