If you're still having issues, try this:

      @fluxuser782

That option didn't work for me. However, I was able to find a solution!

First off, I noticed that the "Night Shift" built-in feature wasn't working me either. Props to apple support for fixing this and (as a result) f.lux

For anyone who has the same problem as me with "Night Shift" not working as well (Go to System Preferences > Displays > Night Shift), follow these steps to re-install your latest mac software...

Uninstall f.lux and any hidden folders related to it.

Back up anything you have. Not necessarily needed, but it made me feel better (as a "just in case"). Everything you have: docs, software, folders, apps, etc... should remain the same. The only thing you're really going to be doing is "fixing" the version that your mac is running on (pretty much the same thing as when you have to update your mac).

      Shut down your mac completely.

Hold the "command" key and the "r" key and press the power button on.
(I believe you keep these keys pressed until you see the apple logo. The "r" stands for "resetting" -which is what you're doing).

Follow the instructions. I had to choose my language, agree to terms, basic misc stuff.

Your mac will have to install and load now which will take time. Depending on your processor speed, what you have installed on your mac, etc.. it may take up to an hour or more to load. Mine took about 35 min.

Log in and download the latest version of f.lux

I hope this helps someone else out there. The biggest pain was the waiting part. Apple support told me that if this doesn't do the trick then I'd have to make an appointment. I was worried about having to send my mac out for repairs, but the guy helping me said most likely not, as this seems to be a software issue and not a hardware issue.
If "Night Shift" works fine, but f.lux doesn't... I'm guessing it's more of an error with f.lux than your mac.

No, 10.14.3 does not help. It seems to have made it worse. Flux is crashing frequently on my mac mini 2012. Has worked without incident since I installed mojave in January. Now recently it fails to switch to dark mode at sunset., and appears not responding in Activity Monitor. Relaunching may or may not get it to work. This time, for example, it had crashed again -- Beachball and not responding.

Worked for me - thank you for creating a separate thread on how to get rid of the cyan colors on Mac OS. Hopefully there'll be a fix in the future from Intel or Apple that fixes the bug.

Check my post above - https://forum.justgetflux.com/topic/6310/how-do-you-manually-edit-disabled-apps/6
Best to use "defaults" or a GUI app, not edit plists directly anymore.

I also am having flickering problems with F.lux on OSX Mojave (long time user without previous problems), as is my friend who started having the same problems when she installed F.lux on her MacBook Pro based on my recommendation. We both quit the programs and are not having the flickering anymore. Sadly, I have had to stop using f.lux, at least for the time being until a bug fix is found :(

      +1

On a dual-monitor setup I'm also getting this effect on the window without focus.

The following screengrab is not how it looks to the naked eye:
      0_1547723850476_Screenshot 2019-01-17 at 11.08.59.png

When I opened the screengrab in an image editor the icon background is transparent with white icon.. actual appearance to the eye is black background white icon like this:
