cant open flux mac
-
Let's see. You're double-clicking the downloaded app and nothing happens?
-
I'd just like to add, if you're downloading the .zip folder, do not unzip it, it actually does that for you on a mac, and it just (usually) does a great job of... oh I don't want to say it, doing the correct thing, when you double click the download. You can double click either in the browser, or in the downloads folder in the dock!

hi guys has been a little while since I've tried it last but figured id give it another try.... and same thing... i download it, unzip, double click on the app, which kinda flashes and appears to open. But then nothing

So what happens when you click on the f.lux settings menu to the left of your system clock, any errors? See the images here for where I mean: https://justgetflux.com/news/pages/macquickstart/
Anything else we should know about your system?
-
There is no flux icon at the top menu bar as the app doesnt open
Nothing special about my laptop, just as described in my original post
-
What are you using to unzip it? Try something else?
After you double-click it, is it listed in Activity Monitor? Are there any error messages in Console?
-
Here's what i get in console

That can be a symptom of it not getting the right permissions when it gets unzipped. It's a known bug in JDownloader download manager for example. You haven't told us what you're using to download and unzip.
Try downloading it again directly with Safari. If it doesn't unzip automatically, right-click and choose "Open With > Archive Utility".
-
excellent, thanks that worked.
Just downloading with Safari did the trick

Glad it worked out, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
Just out of curiosity, can I ask how you were downloading and unzipping it before, that it didn't work?
