I need something simple. I want to set the color temp to, say, 3400 degrees Kelvin and have it stay there until I change it to something else. F.Lux keeps "adjusting" the color temp and it's driving me crazy. Can F.Lux do a simple "set and forget"?

@omahaaudio This isn't exactly how f.lux is designed to work. For your example you would need to set the three values of f.lux (daylight, sunset, bedtime) to 3400K. Examples here: https://justgetflux.com/news/pages/macquickstart/

Yeah, I did this with the Beta version for Windows which has the 3 modes too. All I did was I faked my Location so that f.lux went into sunset mode, then I faked it again so that it was in sunrise mode, and then I faked my wake up time in f.lux so that f.lux went into bedtime mode. For each mode, I chose my preferred temperature and then I was all set.

@TwoCables You can just change the sliders by dragging, you don't need to change location!

Not for 800K. :) I should've mentioned that. hehe I was off in my own world.

If you change the setting on "This is when I wake up" and tell it that you wake up at for example 8 pm, (or whatever gives the minimum number of daylight hours) then you can extend the time that it will work on Bedtime mode which allows you to go to a much lower temperature.
I'm still experimenting with this but it seems pretty effective so far.

Hello, thanks for such an amazing application!
And I have the same problem as people here - I need single adjustment all the time.
It would be perfect if you could make button, that switches off automatic transitions

I agree with that. I have a medical problem with my eyes that leaves them unusually sensitive to blue light, and I find the minimum temperature on the daytime setting is still much too high for me.

You can do 1 color temperature 24/7.

                        Thank you TwoCables.
Could you explain how to do that please as I don't see any obvious way of doing it.

The other option I'm looking at is changing the location setting.
If I add or subtract 180 from the latitude figure, then it will change the day/night by 12 hours.
At 10 am it will think it's 10 pm, and go into sunset mode.
                          This is working so far.

Set all 3 color temperatures the same. Sunrise, Sunset and Bedtime. You can fake your location and fake your bedtime so that you can change them right now.

@nwalford That's how I did it. All there is in the preferences on my Linux version is latitude / longitude and 6 colour choices, can't automate colour changes over time of day etc. It's either on or off, so I found a place that suited what I wanted on the location setter and set it to that. I do like it, very restful on the eyes.
