Although the app is still running up in the taskbar, it turns off the filtering on and off for no freaking reason resulting in headaches i am having. it can blink for 5 seconds, sometimes for 10, changing from yellow to white for about 5 times a minute.

I am using OS X El Capitan 10.11.2 on MacBook Air 11, early 2014
CPU 1.4 Ghz Intel Core i5
      Ram 4GB 1600 DDR3
GPU Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB

I have never experienced this behavior before and I have been using this laptop for 4 months now. It is driving me crazy as my eyes and head starts to ache.

      Please Help me!!!

      Mikhael

@mikhael Can you stay on the desktop and NOT open any other programs and let it stay there for as long as half an hour? I have a strong feeling that you have set a program to disable f.lux. This is an option of f.lux and to use it you would do the following:

        • Open a program
        • With that program active, don't click anything else but the f.lux icon in the menu.
        • In the f.lux menu, there is "Disable for App... > "
        • You would then select what program would be set to disable f.lux.

Stay at the desktop and don't open anything at all, and see if f.lux disables itself, or if it's happening when you open a program.

Another thing to try is disabling the OS X "Automatic brightness" as it changes gamma as well as brightness, and the gamma changes directly interfere with f.lux's settings.

Hi @mikhael - have you recently added any other apps or updated the OS?

If you are able to update your OS that may help a lot.
The next thing to try is disabling autobrightness and rebooting.

Can you post the version of f.lux you are using?
