Help Uninstalling

I could use some help uninstalling the program. I've searched online and in the FAQ and whatnot but can't locate my specific problem.
I'm not sure why, but I do not have the f.lux settings panel to the left of my system clock. So, I cannot click that to quit f.lux. I tried opening to f.lux program by double-clicking the application, but nothing happens when I try that. I even dragged it to the trash can, but it says that can't be done because "it's open." That's a little weird, though, because when I pull up a window to "force quit" applications, f.lux is not an option. The application is still dimming my screen at night as usual, but I can't seem to access it at all.
If someone can help me, I'd appreciate it.
