@dogduty thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'm not sure what else you are looking for here in the f.lux forum, but let us know if we can be of some assistance.

Update 3/2017: These bugs seem to be getting fixed by Apple. However, for those who do not have the latest OS or are still having trouble, we have added a "disable for fullscreen apps" toggle to f.lux. (You might want this for other reasons too.)

              The new build is here:

                Thanks.

OK, to be specific: our dev machines (running 10.12.3 and 10.12.4) exhibited this bug before, but do not right now. Separately, Apple reported to us that they fixed a bug in Safari. So I'm optimistic that more machines will see a fix soon.

I'm not happy that it has taken almost two years for them to address a bug like this - it is incredibly frustrating. But it is definitely not something we can fix on our side (other than this workaround which disables f.lux entirely). It is present even with a simple color profile installed, without f.lux running at all.

@herf Cool. So what you're saying is that current beta versions of MacOS are not showing this glitch. Is it working in Chrome as well? This is good news!

@dogduty @lorna's Macbook Pro Retina (locked to "intel" mode) was showing artifacts before, but it is OK now (in Chrome too). I suspect this is deep in an Intel driver somewhere, so it's really a matter of which actual driver is shipping for each Mac/OS combination.

@herf my MacBook showed the Artefacting but for almost a year it randomly stopped, then it came back. Lots changed during that time, and sometimes it doesn't artefact, especially if I've been in the display settings. It seems to be "deep in the soft where" as someone said I think.

Also your forums are great on mobile, very easy to use (unlike apples, which don't physically work on mobile in my experience) 👍🏻

2012 13" Retina MBP macOS 10.12.4 flux 37.7, no artifacts in full-screen iTunes (did have artifacts prior to 10.2.4 update).

I still get artefacting in youtube in safari. I only use safari so I can't say anything about other browsers.

Quicktime and VLC work just fine. Its only Youtube. When I move my mouse it stops artefacting as well. Just when I hold the mouse still for some time it starts showing up......

Using the latest version of f.lux and OSX on the 13" Macbook with toucbar.

                                    Hi,

Is there still no fix for this?

I get this (also in Google Chrome v56 and Safari 10) on full screen video, once the cursor, title and seeker disappear.

                                    Thanks,
                                    Chris

@lorna I am using the latest version all the time. At the current time its 10.12.4 (16E195).
It does not happen all time. Seems to be somewhat random as to when it happens. I was trying to see if it happening today but I was unable to make it appear again.

My machine still had this bug in macOS 10.12.3, with Chrome and Safari, but no longer has the bug with macOS 10.12.4. It's a late 2016 MacBook Pro with 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports. So, anyone who upgrades their OS, might want to disable my Chrome extension and see if you don't need it anymore.

I'm having this problem too, I have a MacBook Pro Retina and I'm running Sierra 10.12.3 and Flux 37.7. I notice that the problem goes away when I'm browsing incognito. I tried disabling all my chrome extensions, but the problem still happens when I'm outside incognito.
