      Bright colors are the ones artifacting to be exact. They come out really bright, almost white. It hurts my eyes. I saw a few topics like this and it still hasn't been fixed. What's the status right now?

        It has been reported to Apple for more than a year. If you are using Chrome you might try this plugin:

          My Macbook Air is from 2011, the description says it is for 2013+ models...

            Yes it has recently (as of 10.12) started appearing on older Intel devices as well. The Chrome fix should work for you.

            I believe Apple has fixed it within Safari and so they closed my most recent bug, but it occurs even in the basic Quicktime player, so it is a core problem in the system.
