last night's colour on second monitor

Hi,
I like FLUX 37.2 a lot and it mostly works well on my MacBook Pro with El Capitan.
However, I have a lot of problems when I connect my 28 inch iMac over Thunderbolt as a second monitor (press cmd F2).
The second monitor comes in with unpredictable late night colours which do not fit.
The best solution seems to be to quit and relaunch FLUX.
Can you explain what is happening?
