F.lux allows us automatically control screen color along the day : why not allow the same thing for the dimmer ?

Or at least add an option to recall last dimmer setting when rebooting the computer ?

      Thank you

@DavidL yes we have plans in this area.

Since many people use laptops these days, it's generally better to adjust the backlight rather than do soft-dimming like our hotkeys do. That is complex because it makes us sort of argue with every other part of the system that wants to do this too.

          Hello,

Are there any news regarding this feature ? I have a Iiyama G2730HSU-B5 and its minimum luminosity is too high. Therefore, I constantly need to use f.lux dimmer to lower it.

It would be very useful if f.lux :

          • would remember last setting (each time I boot the pc, I need to increase dimming).

          • f.lux would allow to create shortcut to apply a given level of dimming. E.g. : ctrl + alt + n : night level (= strong dimming), ctrl + alt + d : day level (= moderate dimming).

          • f.lux would have an option to automate these settings based on hour of the day.

          • all the previous features could be independently for each monitor.

ClickMonitorDDC does most of these for many monitor parameters, but I need f.lux to do the same with dimming.

Thank you for seriously considering this feature.

          Best regards

I ended up buying another screen with normal minimum luminosity.

It's a bit unfortunate that comments take 18+ days to be validated, and that there aren't any new status since a year on that feature request.
