I am experiencing similar issues as covered in this old thread.

My laptop runs really hot when f.lux is running warm colours in the evening and the fan has to work very hard. But when the location window is open the temperature drops and the fan backs off.

Any suggestions on how to resolve?

I've tried to upload a pic of the driver setttings using three different browsers but the forum software fires an error in all cases.
