I love flux but there's no option to have it not disable when using VLC.

      Could this please be added?

      Thanks

Is this still true? It hurts my eyes every time flux turns itself off because I want to check the content of a video file. If I care about colour representation, I'll disable flux myself.

Then you have VLC selected. You can click on f.lux in the menubar and chose "Disable -> for current app"

          I'm version 39.984 of f.lux

Why is this thread gone? I am just having the same issue with vlc. I dont want vlc to make the screen bright. I like watching movies with flux active.

I just updated flux to the latest and it always make my screen bright, i already am trying classic flux but vlc is still making it bright

                Open VLC
Click the flux icon in your menu bar (top right of the screen)
                Go to "Disable"
Click "for vlc" to uncheck it (or it might say "for current app")
                Quit and restart VLC

Worked for me, I never manually disabled flux for VLC so not sure if that's a default setting or what.
