Mac dark menu bar and dock appearance
-
Dear f.lux team,
I love your product, it's awesome. I also like my Mac's menu bar and dock to be dark, day and night. Could you please offer the option to NOT have them changed automatically. Let the user decide please.
Thanks!elekra from Amsterdam

@elektra It's actually an option in f.lux to set the OS X theme to dark when the sun has set. You can turn off this feature in the f.lux menu in the bar.

Yes, after reading your post I thought I would just turn on "OS Dark theme at sunset" and because it was daylight it immediately turned Dark theme off. I like it on all the time too. Unticking the option in the Flux pull down menu did not turn it back on as I expected, I had to go to System Preferences>General and turn it back on there.

@Tungsten_smooth I experience the same problem. Even when I have "OS X dark theme at sunset" enabled, my dark menu bar and dock always goes back to the default (not dark). Could you please fix that? Thanks
-
@mrueegg Do you have it enabled in Mac, or in f.lux--because it's in BOTH places, have a look around.
-
@Tungsten_smooth I have enabled both the f.lux color setting "OS X dark theme at sunset" and "Use dark menu bar and dock" in Mac OS X. Do I need to do anything else?
-
@mrueegg Yeah, they are basically opposites of each other. I think it just does the opposite of what the current setting is. The default is to have the menu bar white, so f.lux assumes this it seems, and changes the setting to dark.
You'll want to uncheck "use dark theme" in OS X.

@Tungsten_smooth Thanks a lot. That did the trick!
