Please stop asking me to update

How can I disable these annoying popups asking to update f.lux? Every time I wake my computer, this nagging popup appears. I don't want any updates, the program does what I need it to. The "Skip" button on the popup doesn't even do anything. I don't understand why f.lux is even connecting to the internet.. will blocking f.lux with Windows firewall prevent checking for updates?

@MadFerret f.lux updates automatically to make sure it's compatible with the newest OSes. We don't have the ability to support old versions with things changing as much as they do. There are a half-dozen fixes in the last year that affect newer video cards and OSes.
If you "skip" an update it will not prompt you for the same version again, but it will prompt for other versions.

Turn off "Update f.lux automatically" in its settings.
Or, uninstall it and then reinstall it through Microsoft Store. That way, updates will come automatically just as they do for all other apps installed via Microsoft Store which means you'll never again see any messages about the updates.

"Update f.lux automatically"
to disable "Update f.lux automatically" does not prevent this update nag popups. "Skip" Button has no function.
I'm sorry to have to put it so drastically, but this behaviour of software reminds me of crap- or malware.
Unpreventable telemetry and non-functioning "skip" buttons and settings that don't do what they say they do. -
@Juschi the skip button skips the version, and it should not prompt again. We have done several updates recently, which have critical fixes for Windows updates, so you will be prompted for them one by one.
The trouble with maintaining f.lux is that we do feature updates sometimes, but we do compatibility updates often as we're glued between the operating system and a bunch of third party drivers. If we had to explain to each person why they should update we would be having millions of conversations about it all the time.
