Darkroom mode makes my screen unreadable

Hi, I really appreciate f.lux. I was using it in a Windows 10 Lenovo 470 laptop; it worked wonderfully. I am a copy editor, so I like any app that eases the strain on my eyes.
I just bought an Asus VivoBook 14, but the darkroom mode makes all the screen light red and the characters are not visible; the very few that are still legible are heavily pixelated, as if the antialising presents an error.
