On Win7 SP1, f.lux v4.76 runs from the Startup folder of my "Standard User" account when I boot up. I've selected "Recommended Colors."

Here's the problem: After sunset, f.lux is stuck in "daylight" mode and does not change to "nightime" mode. If I exit f.lux and then restart it, it goes straight to "nightime" mode.

f.lux used to work properly on my box, but I don't remember when it began acting up.

Does the graph in f.lux preferences look right?
Can you post options > Driver info?

The graph looks OK -- bright after sunrise and dim after sunset with smooth transitions between the two states.

When I run a "24 Hour Preview" of the "Recommended Colors," the screen colors change as expected.

Which specific options do you want to see?

OK, it seems like this card never had a driver release for Windows 7 (only Vista) and the card is from 2004, but you are using the latest driver.

Is it maybe failing to restore from standby? i.e. does it work sometimes? Also is f.lux still running when it's failing (see if you can bring up the preferences)? Maybe it is crashing...

f.lux is running when stuck in "daylight" mode after sunset. I can pull up the preferences and change them. That's how I exit f.lux.

I can't say if f.lux works sometimes, because I don't remember the last time I was working on my computer at sunset, but I can check.

Question: Can f.lux be affected by Windows' screen saver and/or power management settings? I can't get the display (Dell E173FPc, correct driver installed) to turn off when the computer is idle. The power button flashes orange (display off) then turns green again and the display shows the mouse cursor on a black background. (This is a problem I hope to take care of in the near future.)
