Flux overriding gamma (etc.) settings

Unfortunately, after doing some digging, it seems that flux is completely ignoring gamma etc settings done in windows/nvidia control panel and has been for years. How has this issue not been fixed? I've just bought a new nvidia graphics card after having an ATI one for years, and now I need to remove flux because my monitor is just way way too bright with this high default gamma setting, unless there is an easy fix I've been missing? I've been championing this program for years but I guess with Windows 10 having night light it's sort of redundant now anyway?
