@lorna But what does the "install updates automatically" option do? If the Windows Store updates it, then is this option a leftover from the executable? Would it still work if an update was released to the executable version?

@HTV04 So basically, not much - the option there now will turn the readme on and off. We'll change that next build (then we can all see how the update process happens...)

Keep in mind, version 4.32 ("4.32.0.0") is a beta version.

@lorna What do you mean by the "readme"? Isn't that usually a text file that comes with a program explaining about it? Sorry if Im asking too much, I'm just really confused 😂.

@HTV04 We should take the option out of the menu, because it doesn't do anything because Windows Store will handle it. It's a bug. ^_^

@lorna Oh, ok. Thanks! I was just confused there, lol. Though you should probably release an update before another update to the f.lux executable is released, as it the UWP might try to download the update and might break itself. I might be wrong, but you never know 😅.

Windows checks the version number. If it's the same, then a download/update won't be attempted.

@TwoCables I know that, I'm just saying that the update system from the executable might've been carried over when it was converted, and the UWP trying to download the executable's update might break it. But the f.lux developers probably removed the code for the update system after the conversion and accidentally left the "install updates automatically" option.

                      Yeah, Lorna said it's disabled.

                        Hello,

just a quick question and possibly a bug report :)

Is there a way to disable the notification when entering a fullscreen app? I enabled "Disable for fullscreen apps" because I don't want the dim when watching movies. Unfortunately I get that notification everyday.

I tried to disable notifications for f.lux in the notification settings of Windows 10 itself. But it seems to get reenabled as soon as the next notification is displayed. This is probably a bug I guess?

                        Thanks for any help ;)

//edit: Well, also found out that I can't really disable the bedtime thingy and constantly had to change the time to make it work. Hope there will be a switch to disable in later betas. I'm back to v3.12 for now.

Well, you did make the Apple Jailbreak f.lux program, so you're close! Maybe google will help work with you as well, or is the hardware currently too diverse?

@Tungsten_smooth Funny bit of f.lux trivia that most people don't know: An Apple executive told us to make a jailbreak version, back in 2009, see if we could demonstrate the demand. So that's actually why we did it... Turns out there was some demand I guess.

@lorna WOW! Now that's ... shocking. I hope they add in your options, and naming scheme for the colors. It's just not the same without all the information about sleep on the program. I'm glad they asked you to make it, but to then take away what makes your program easy to use and understand just seems rude and uncaring. Ah well, looking forward to other mobile platform updates...

I have a feature on my phone that is almost like f.lux, but it's too yellow, and just looks very strange because I know it's not right, I could filter it with other apps but I'm thinking of just rooting my phone if possible. It would be so much nicer to have deeper orange options and a transition too, this one just jumps to the setting.

@Tungsten_smooth I can't say I agree with you there - I hope they ultimately do the right thing and allow f.lux into the app store. There is a lot of research and hard work that needs to be done, not the kind of thing you can just copy....

@helloabhishek Choose "recommended settings" in preferences to return to defaults for all versions of f.lux.

Like she said, they can't control when Microsoft rolls out their updates. I would bet they gave Microsoft their update as soon as it was available.

@TwoCables Microsoft doesn't control the updates. The developers of an app would release an update, and it would be checked then released. I don't know if that's what you meant, but if you were talking about Microsoft being the one releasing the updates for the f.lux UWP, then that's incorrect.
