It's not supposed to be this way. Reinstall f.lux. It should automatically set itself up to start with Windows.

Possibly you have an over eager anti-virus? If so, check to see if you can update definitions and try again.

What precisely are you having to do when you reboot? What do you mean by, "i have to notice it's not here and get it and load it."?

--------- i have to notice that f.lux isn't changing the color of my screen after the sun goes down. then i have to go to the install set-up program (that i keep on my desktop ), click it, and run through the settings.

Then if I were to guess at what you have for a computer (the very basics of your computer), then I would guess Windows 10 with the Creator's Update and an AMD GPU.

How close am I to what you really have? :)

The only reason I guessed Windows 10 with the Creator's Update and an AMD GPU is, this seems to be a common problem for f.lux on such computers.

                    What's "64 x 64"? I'm guessing you mean '64-bit', or 'x64'.

Anyway, so you have the Creator's Update?

Check the Startup tab in Task Manager.

Otherwise you've got an anti-virus problem.

                        ^ This.

Some anti-virus programs might be like, "I don't recognize f.lux, so I'm blocking it."
