I'm still having problems with the Darkroom mode....when I try to enable it, it immediately quits and returns to whatever the current F.lux setting is. I'm hoping there will be a Darkroom update soon.....

@eenoramic is it possible you were using our soft-dimming features before disabling? These are accessed via Alt+PgDn or Alt+PgUp, and we don't make them as prominent right now because they mostly appeal to desktop users and people who are sensitive to flicker on laptops.

@Alex5525 we do maintain three presets in this version - one for when the sun's up, another for the early evening, and another for right before bed. You can make the second two the same, just move the slider as you like.

It seems like you may have a timezone or location issue - timezone is set by Windows and not f.lux.

@itssfchris these settings are all in the "Disable" menu and it should be clear how to toggle them off once you find it!

@justsomebody for #2 yes we notice when timezones change and adjust things then, but this doesn't account for north-south travel.

We have done some tests with looking for changes to WiFi networks and the like, but it is a pretty noisy signal and so it requires us to chat with a server and becomes a privacy issue, so we have not shipped it, because we don't want to track anyone's location in detail.

@hooddy Chrome is kind of a special case because they install a system-level service to handle updates. Most apps do not have this kind of privilege.

As it is, we often need to make rapid updates when Windows or drivers change, so only our corporate build installs to Program Files.

@PingableUsername this is almost certainly Intel's DPST and not f.lux. See if your manufacturer provides a way to disable it.

We sometimes do disable it because it interacts badly with our more extreme settings, but we do not enable it.

Make sure you're using the latest version of f.lux. Sometimes, updates include bug fixes and better compatibility with newer operating systems like Windows 11.

@illyn yes we overwrite that preset file from our online version periodically. Try making it read-only and see if it works.

@bakjoul We released 4.126 to beta track today - it should be more careful to avoid reading old state immediately after startup. If you can flip the backoff preference back on we'd love to know how it works.

@kenniky we have one other post today with a 2021 Intel driver (10th gen Intel) and the ".3448" update not working. Can you look for an update to the Intel UHD driver?
