F.lux not Working on Monitor through a USB to HDMI cable or a USB HDMI adapter
-
Greetings,
Recently, my main charger broke down so I resorted to using an older charger that needs a USB-C port to connect. Unfortunately, I have only one USB-C port on my laptop and that was the port I was using to connect to the monitor. That was due to the fact that I don't have an HDMI connection on my laptop. Therefore, I opted firstly for a USB to HDMI adapter, but I noticed that f.lux was not dimming or brightening the monitor. Then I opted for a USB to HDMI cable to have a direct connection with the laptop. However, that did not fix the issue. The issue is only for the monitor as f.lux is working fine on the laptop.
I noticed on a forum on Reddit that f.lux only supports VGA, HDMI and another display port connection, however, it was working with USB-C. Does it not support a USB connection or is there a workaround for this? Please let me know if there's anything I can do. Much appreciated!

@Nick-V Hi Nick - the adapters mainly present as a new kind of device, many of them by DisplayLink. We have a post about that here: https://forum.justgetflux.com/topic/4653/tinted-screenshots-or-fullscreen-apps-and-games-missing-f-lux
For some people (especially with multiple monitors) Thunderbolt (which uses the USB-C connector spec) can be better than USB-C. Your laptop may support it, but you'd need a more expensive hub in order to make it work.

@herf Hey Herf! Sorry for the late reply, I'll try downloading the display links drivers and changing the registry keys as suggested by you in that post. Thanks!
