So I just bought a 2018 15" MBP (and probably spent the most I've ever spent on any consumer device), and I set it up to restore from a Time Machine backup of my old Mac (a 2014 13" rMBP), so everything was just as I like it. The only thing I'm having trouble with is the fact that f.lux seems to cause the display to freak out a little when the color temperature gets too warm. The cursor and some black text on the screen turns cyan, while the little dots under open apps in the dock turn neon green. It's very strange and trippy, and I can't take screenshots of it b/c when I drag the screenshot window over the affected area, it goes back to normal. Turning off f.lux fixes the problem completely, and of course this doesn't happen with Night Shift. Turning off True Tone doesn't seem to do anything. Does anybody know if this is a common issue and how to fix it? Resetting the SMC doesn't seem to have had any affect. I know Night Shift is similar, but I like how f.lux gradually changes over the course of hours rather than suddenly making your screen super yellow.

This problem usually means you need to update to Mojave.
