Backwards alarm clock not working

I don't get any f.lux notifications for the backwards alarm clock. I have the "Alerts" style notifications selected for f.lux in system preferences. I also have the backwards alarm clock option checked in the f.lux options menu. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling f.lux. I'm not sure what's going on.
The Mac OS I'm using is High Sierra 10.13.6 and I've got f.lux version 39.9871.

Ok, is anything showing in notification center (from clicking the top-right of the screen)?
I know mine were working as of last night on 10.13.6. Hm.

No, there isn't anything in the notification center BUT I unchecked that in the notification preferences. So that I get flux notifications (and also for any other app) only as alerts but not in the notification center.

I've allowed the notifications in the notification center but still nothing with flux.
