Unable to run, unable to uninstall

I tried to download a new version of Flux, but it said a version was already running. I went to Finder, clicked on Flux in applications, and it did not open. Then I tried to delete it, but was not able to do so because it said it was running. So not able to access to change settings, not able to delete, not able to install new version. PLEASE HELP, I am going blind!

What happens if you open the f.lux menu to the left of your system clock? Are you able to access it? Can you quit from there? Pics of what I mean are here: https://justgetflux.com/news/pages/macquickstart/
