Sending POE to raspberry pi to light RGBW LED strips

I'm in the process of designing a desk light and have trawled these incredible forums to try to work out a way to run this as a standalone solely from the raspberry pi. Has anyone found a way to do this yet? Am I missing something?

There is a sort of "prototyping" API from Windows -> HTTP, and from there you can control a light strip. Check the Options menu and fill in the LAN API URL there.
We're also working on a version of this that will work when the PC is offline, which is somewhat more complicated and has more features.
