seems not to work as before

I was able to dim most areas but keep photoshop and picasa in the daylight mode whenever I went to those programs. that doesn't work now. there is no change and I don't see a way to bring the selection button (if that's what it was) back. any help for this? I'm using Yosemite but will be taking the next upgrade after it comes online. Thanks for whatever advice you can give.

Since v34 f.lux has had a "disable by app" feature. This should still be working fine in v36.
You can check in the f.lux menu under the Disable menu - it should say "for current app" (meaning no apps are disabled), or will have the name of the current app, where you can check or uncheck the feature.
