Flashing screen after recent update to macOS Sierra
-
Anyone else experiencing this problem or can lend a hand? Goe through periods of violently flashing, otherwise switches between enabled and disabed mode every couple of minutes. Can't seem to link enabled/disabled status to anything in particular .

Yes, I have a similar issue on High Sierra, I'm told a fix deleting a file (credit to user bobzippymail). I know this is an olf thread but pretty high up on google so hopefully this helps someone.
Delete "backgrounditems.btm" file under this path, and then restart your mac.
/Users/$your_user/Library/Application Support/com.apple.backgroundtaskmanagementagent/backgrounditems.btm
My issue is similar that it flashes on for a second and then breaks and stays off. When I reboot it starts up and works fine, but then it'll turn off, usually triggered by pressing one of the function keys like volume, brightness etc.
If anyone has a fix for this PLEASE help me, I can't really live without flux :(:(
Oh also it seems that when it randomly turns back one for a second, it's triggered by moving the mouse, but I can't turn it on by moving the mouse, it's just occasionally (every 5-10 minutes?), moving the mouse flicks it on.
