f.lux, Bartender 2 menu bar manager, MacOS Sierra
-
Not sure whose issue this is, but I notified the publisher of Bartender already. Problem is that in MacOS Sierra, when I choose to put the f.lux menu item in the Bartender popdown menu bar rather than the MacOS Menu Bar, the icon for f.lux now disappears; it's black (or very, very dark grey) on black. This wasn't the case before my recent upgrade to Sierra.
f.lux still works fine, and I know where it is in the Bartender menu bar because there's an empty space, but it's odd that the icon doesn't show with the correct color any more. If I change f.lux back to not appearing in the Bartender menu bar, the regular f.lux logo (white) shows in the MacOS Menu Bar. Odd.
Any ideas on what is causing this anomaly? See screenshots:

We use the "template" property to allow macOS to draw our icon in the right color. Not sure if that helps or not!

@herf Well, this is odd, and I'm not 100% sure why things changed back to working correctly. I had restarted the laptop several times and the bug remained.
Then I happened to run Cocktail's system cleaning/maintenance routine, restarted my MBP and noted that the f.lux logo started showing correctly again (white logo on black background) in Bartender 2's menu bar as well as the regular MacOS menu bar if I left f.lux there.
I'm still at a loss for this bug, but the pesky issue has gone away. Something corrupted in a cache that was cleared by Cocktail, perhaps?
I'll leave this here as a hint if anyone else runs into this bug after installing MacOS Sierra.
