Immediately after updating to 37.7 I had to start using a hot corner to start a screen saver.

      OS v10.11.6
      2.6Ghz i5

Can you type this into Terminal to check if there is anything else making this happen?

        pmset -g assertions

I think this Firefox is preventing sleep:

            pid 30579(firefox): [0x0010cc8e00050423] 52:30:42 NoDisplaySleepAssertion named: "screen"

Is it possible you have a tab playing video, or something like that? It's potentially possible that there is some interaction between Firefox and f.lux (but I just tried it and couldn't make it happen - my display went to sleep with both running).

As a matter of fact, yes. I'm working on an HTML5 version of a website and the landing page has a movie background that plays. I'm using wix.com so its a prefab page that I modified slightly.

I tried a couple of things and confirmed its that movie playing in FireFox. I stopped the movie playing and the screen saver started. I played the movie and the screen saver did not start. I was on FF v48.0. When I looked at the About dialog box it showed an update was available. I updated to 48.0.1 and tried the same again. I got the same results.

When Firefox is playing a movie the screen saver doesn't start.

Please let me know if I can provide more information to help.

              Thanks for your help!

@mgregclark Firefox itself is preventing the screen saver from playing when the video plays

Yes. That is what I found. Once I closed the tab with that video the screen saver and f.lux works as they should.
