Cannot Adjust Preferences unless App is re-Started

Great app. Now using it on my second Macbook Pro. Same behaviour on both. This is a new MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)
I cannot adjust the wake time if the app has been running for a while unless I quit (kill) the app and re-launch it. Then for a period of time I can make the change. I need to adjust wake time almost every day due to my work schedule .
This has been the case for a long time. Hoping for a bug fix for this.

What is going on? Is the UI locked up somehow?

I know this is not answering your question, but you may not really need to adjust the wake time so often. See:

I don't find out when I need to get up until 17:00 the night before. So that won't really help. What happens is the dropdown menu displays, but I cannot select "Preferences". This happens if the app has been running for some time. If I quit it and restart it I can then select "Preferences"
