      Why?

Just installing for first time. When I click the icon in the menu bar (a small black sun) I do not get the same Preferences as described on the page https://justgetflux.com/news/pages/macquickstart/

It does not say "About f.lux" but "About Flux" and under that "Flux Preferences" and does not show anything like "Options" "Color Effects" -- it shows "Disable for an hour" and "Lighting at night" and then "Quit Flux" (not "Quit f.lux").

      Wondering why.

Under About Flux it says "Copyright 2009"

I am using Mac OSX 10.5.8, on an old PowerPC Imac.

      thanks for comments.

10.5.8 and the newer versions of f.lux aren't compatible. That should be the most recent version that works with your OS version.

How do I download a compatible version, and what version might that be? Thank you.

You'd need to use a newer version of the Mac OS.

well. that is not possible with the PowerPC computer that I have. Anyway, f.lux seems to be functioning, judging from its first night.

Yes, the older version automatically installed! You won't have the newer features but it will change color at sunset.
