El Capitan 10.11.3

Had to update El Capitan version and re-download f.lux but now I cannot open it. I just keep getting the error "THe application Flux cannot be opened." I have tried older versions of the app as well but no luck.
-
Doesn't it give any kind of reason or explanation with the error message?
-
Unfortunately not. That is all the message says.

@rachael.oettinger That's strange. You could open the Console application and see if there are any other error messages when you try to open f.lux.
You can also try completely uninstalling f.lux by doing this:
- Go to the Applications folder and put the Flux application in the trash.
- Do a search in the Finder for any extra copies of the Flux application on your hard drive, and trash them.
- In the Finder, press command-shift-G.
- Type or paste this into the box:
~/Library/Application Support
- Look for a folder called Flux, if it's there, put it in the trash.
- Press command-shift-G again.
- Type or paste this into the box:
~/Library/Containers
- Look for a folder called com.justgetflux.flux, if it's there, put it in the trash.
- Press command-shift-G again.
- Type or paste this into the box:
~/Library/Preferences
- Look for a file called org.herf.Flux.plist, if it's there, put it in the trash. Note that this step will reset your preferences for location, colours, disabled apps, wake time, and so on. You could try doing all the other steps except this one, or at least making a backup copy.
- Empty the trash.
Then download the latest Flux.zip file using Safari, making sure not to use any download managers or third-party unarchivers or zip-expanders. If Safari doesn't automatically unzip the Flux.zip file, right-click it and choose "Open with > Archive Utility". Put Flux in your Applications folder and double-click it.

Thank you for your response. Downloading it via Safari seemed to work. I don't know if it is a Chrome/El Capitan compatibility issue but the new browser did the trick.
